About the Role
As a Tenancy Support Worker, you will support people in their own homes and in the community to help them stay safe, independent and securely housed. You’ll be working with individuals who may be homeless, at risk of homelessness, exiting the criminal justice system, or facing challenges such as mental health issues, substance use, trauma or financial difficulties. Your aim is to help people improve their lives and achieve their support plan goals by building on their strengths, growing in confidence and maintaining their tenancy.

- People already working in housing support, homelessness services, social care or mental health who want to join a values‑driven Welsh charity.
- People with Volunteering Experience
- People who are keen to learn, open‑minded, compassionate and eager to develop new skills —
- especially in trauma‑informed practice and Solution‑Focused Practice (SFP).
What You’ll Do
- Support a caseload of people in their homes and communities.
- Carry out risk assessments and provide practical support and advocacy.
- Help people access housing, health, wellbeing and community services.
- Keep clear and accurate records of progress.
- Encourage clients to engage in positive activities, skills, training or employment.
- Use trauma‑informed, psychologically informed and solution‑focused approaches.
- Work as part of a supportive, committed team.
- Uphold safeguarding, GDPR, health &safety and professional boundaries at all times.
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
Essential Skills
- Clear and confident communication.
- Empathy, patience and the ability to build trust.
- Professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Good organisation, time‑management and IT skills.
- Willingness to learn trauma‑informed and solution‑focused approaches.
- Understanding of homelessness, mental health, substance use, safeguarding, GDPR and health & safety.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in housing, support, health, care or the voluntary sector.
- Knowledge of housing law and the benefits system.
- Welsh language skills.
- Health & Social Care Level 3 or equivalent.
- De‑escalation techniques.

- Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
