Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant with importing experience to join our team. The successful candidate will support the organisation’s financial operations by managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficient processes. Accounts & Finance
- Process purchase invoices, supplier statements, and payments accurately.
- Maintain accounts payable and receivable records.
- Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and VAT returns.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
Import & Logistics Coordination
- Handle import documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs paperwork.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents.
- Monitor import shipments and ensure timely delivery.
- Verify import duties, shipping costs, and related expenses for accurate accounting.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain records of imported goods and related costs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or Workday is highly desirable
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy levels
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes and financial services operations
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is advantageous but not essential
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A recognised qualification in accounting or finance is required
Pay: £12.80-£15.00 per hour
