Job Title: Rota Coordinator (Home Care)
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Rota Coordinator to join our home care team. This role is vital in ensuring that our clients receive safe, reliable, and person-centred care through effective scheduling and staff support. You will work closely with care staff, clients, and management to maintain continuity of care and high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, manage, and maintain efficient staff rotas for domiciliary care services
- Schedule care visits, ensuring travel time and continuity of carers are prioritised
- Respond to staff sickness, absences, and last-minute changes, arranging appropriate cover
- Ensure all care calls are allocated and delivered on time
- Maintain accurate records using scheduling systems
Quality & Compliance Duties
- Carry out regular spot checks in clients’ homes to ensure care is delivered in line with care plans, policies, and best practice
- Conduct staff supervisions, one-to-one meetings, and performance reviews
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback, guidance, and support
- Identify and report any safeguarding or quality concerns
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including those set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
On-Call Responsibilities
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support to care staff and clients
- Handle emergencies, missed calls, and urgent staffing issues promptly
- Provide guidance and reassurance to staff working in the community
Requirements
- Previous experience in rota coordination or scheduling within a home care or health and social care setting
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience conducting supervisions or supporting staff development
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota, including evenings and weekends
Desirable
- Knowledge of domiciliary care operations and best practices
- Familiarity with electronic rota and care planning systems
- Understanding of safeguarding and compliance requirements
