About the team
The Information Hub is a small team which is part of the City of London Police who are the designated National Lead Force for fraud and cyber-crime and is responsible for Report Fraud, the national fraud and cyber crime reporting service which also incorporates Analysis Services and Victim Services. The City of London Police’s mission is to protect the public by preventing and disrupting fraud and cyber-crime through capable, coordinated, and effective policing
About the role
The post will be situated within the Quality Assurance Team which forms part of the enabling services pillar within the Fraud and Cyber Crime Reporting and Analysis Service (FCCRAS) programme. Report Fraud is the UK’s national reporting centre for fraud and internet crime - where incidents of fraud should be reported. We provide a central point of contact for information about fraud and financially motivated internet crime. Analysis Services are responsible for assessment of the reports and to ensure that reports of fraud reach the right place.
The Information Hub Support Officer will play an integral part within the Information Hub, who are an important customer facing team and handle many of the enquiries and information requests made to Report Fraud from members of the public. Also the provision of administrative support both to the team and the Quality Assurance Team generally.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be:
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills; with evidence of both meeting deadlines and effectively prioritising a changing workload.
- High degree of flexibility in moving between tasks and roles as business priorities dictate
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in a demanding environment.
- Ability to communicate at all levels, with strong written and communication skills both within and outside the organisation.
- Processing incoming mail, phone calls, facsimiles, e-mails and distribute appropriately if required.
Requirements

- Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills to clearly explain policies and procedures to staff at all levels, consistently maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
- Proven administrative and organisational skills with a specialised administration unit with evidence of meeting and negotiating deadlines, as well as effectively prioritising a changing workload.
- Effective written, IT and communication skills to prepare letters, memorandums and e-mails to all levels of staff and external clients.
- Ability to work independently whilst displaying enthusiasm to assist other colleagues and customers when required.
- Understanding of policy and procedure in Home Office Crime Recording Standards, understanding of fraud, trends and threats affecting the UK.
This vacancy is open only to those who have the right to work in the UK. Also, due to this role requiring MV/SC level vetting, you need to have continuously resided in the UK for the last 3/5 years. This residency needs to be in the immediate 3/5 years prior to this application.
