Job Summary
Join our dynamic bakery team as a Bread Picker, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and timely selection of fresh bread products for distribution. This energetic position requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a passion for food safety. As a Bread Picker, you will be responsible for accurately identifying, picking, and preparing bread items to meet production demands while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene. Your proactive approach will help keep our bakery operations running smoothly and ensure our customers receive the freshest products every day.
Hours will be Monday-Friday 1200-1600, (once bread has been picked)
Responsibilities
- Carefully select and pick bread products from storage areas based on production schedules and order requirements
- Ensure all bread items are handled in accordance with food safety standards, including HACCP protocols
- Conduct visual inspections to verify product quality, freshness, and proper packaging before dispatch
- Follow strict food safety procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and uphold a safe working environment
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of food production processes and safety standards, including HACCP principles
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating equipment used in food handling environments
- Strong attention to detail to accurately identify and select bread products
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team setting
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and recording inventory data
- Commitment to food safety practices and maintaining hygiene standards at all times
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate loads throughout the shift
