Overview
My client is seeking a reliable and experienced Stores Person to join their warehouse team.
Duties
- Unload and inspect incoming deliveries for damage or discrepancies against purchase orders
- Accurately book-in stock and allocate items to designated storage locations
- Pick and pack orders for internal assembly teams or external dispatch, ensuring 100% accuracy
- Prepare shipping documentation and coordinate with couriers for timely collections
- Material preparation support as and when required
- Maintain the T-Card system, providing immediate visual clarity on task status, stock locations, and job progress
- Perform regular stock counts and perpetual stock checks to ensure physical stock matches system records
- Identify and report low stock levels or shortages to the purchasing team
- Operate a forklift truck (Counterbalance) safely to move, stack, and load heavy materials
- Maintain a clean and organised stores area to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar stores or warehouse role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work to engineering drawings preferred but not essential
- Relevant experience in a heavy manufacturing facility would be beneficial
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams, to interact with production/maintenance colleagues and managers alike
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to take and respond to direction as required
- Self-motivated individual who can work on their own initiative
- Forklift Licence: A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence is highly preferred
