Before progressing towards work, eligible applicants will gain:

- Level 2 Certificate in Rail Engineering

- Practical track-maintenance activities

Rail Track Operatives play an important part in keeping the railway safe and operational. The work can include maintaining track, replacing components, using tools and equipment, preparing work areas and supporting track renewals.
This could suit you if you:
- Prefer practical work to sitting behind a desk
- Work well as part of a team
- Take safety and instructions seriously
- Are punctual and reliable
- Are willing to work outdoors
- Can be flexible regarding nights, weekends and travel
- A driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
