Join our bakery team, located in Ambleside in the beautiful Lake District.
Are you passionate about baking and take pride in creating exceptional products from scratch? We're looking for a Baker to join our friendly craft bakery team. Whether you're an experienced artisan baker or someone with a genuine passion for baking who is eager to learn, we'd love to hear from you.
Working with premium ingredients and traditional methods, you'll help produce a range of artisan breads, pastries, and baked goods to the highest standards while contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.
About the Role
As a Baker, you will:
- Prepare, mix, shape, proof, and bake a variety of artisan breads, rolls, pastries, and other baked goods.
- Follow established recipes while maintaining exceptional consistency and quality.
- Monitor fermentation, proofing, and baking processes to achieve the best results.
- Ensure all products are fresh, beautifully presented, and meet our quality standards.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Help monitor ingredient stocks and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workspace.
- Follow all food safety and health and safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet daily production schedules.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, and genuinely enjoys baking.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Experience working in a craft or artisan bakery (preferred but not essential).
- A good understanding of bread making, dough handling, and baking techniques.
However, we also welcome applications from people with little or no professional baking experience who can demonstrate:
- A genuine passion and enthusiasm for baking.
- A strong commitment to learning and developing their skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality products.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
You'll also need to:
- Be able to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Be comfortable standing for extended periods and carrying out the physical demands of bakery work.
