Overview
We are seeking dedicated Volunteer Crisis Call Handlers to provide vital support to individuals in distress or those who have been bereaved by suicide. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within the community by offering compassionate listening and guidance during challenging times.
Successful candidates will be trained to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy, contributing to the safety and well-being of those in need.
Duties
- Respond promptly and empathetically to calls, offering reassurance and support.
- Assess the needs of callers and provide appropriate guidance or intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of calls and actions taken, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance mental health knowledge.
- Uphold organisational policies and procedures, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.

We will need to perform an Enhanced DBS, for which you will need proof of ID, and 2x proof of address.
Minimum Commitment
We ask for you to give a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week, to keep your training and skills up to date.
All shifts are during the evening 6pm-10pm and based at our office in BS30. You must be able to travel to and from this BS30, as no remote training or working is available.
