Bar Manager – Ninety One Pub, Brick Lane
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Bar Manager to join the team at Ninety One Pub, a busy Brick Lane venue with a strong focus on drinks, food, live music, DJs and great hospitality.
This role would suit either an experienced Bar Manager or a strong Senior Supervisor who is ready to take the next step into a more structured management position. The successful candidate will have solid experience working in a pub, high-volume bar or late-night venue, and will be confident leading the bar team during busy services.
Working closely with the Venue Manager, the Bar Manager will help oversee bar standards, staff performance, stock control, service quality and the overall guest experience. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading by example and helping to build a strong, professional bar team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Venue Manager with the day-to-day running of the venue
- Lead the bar team during busy services, evening shifts and events
- Ensure high standards of drinks service, speed, presentation and guest experience
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked bar
- Support with stock control, ordering, deliveries and stock rotation
- Help monitor wastage, stock usage and bar profitability
- Train and support bartenders and supervisors on service standards and venue procedures
- Ensure licensing, health and safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards are followed
- Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints professionally
- Support the smooth running of live music, DJ-led and event nights where required
- Communicate clearly with the Venue Manager, kitchen, security and wider team
- Help create a positive, motivated and accountable team culture
Ideal Experience
- Previous experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager, Senior Supervisor or experienced bartender in a busy pub or bar
- Experience working in high-volume drinks-led environments
- Strong knowledge of bar operations, stock control and service standards
- Confident leading a team during busy evening and weekend shifts
- Good understanding of beers, spirits, cocktails and general bar service
- Experience in live music, DJ-led or late-night venues is desirable
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great guest experiences
