Key Responsibilities
- Support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day running of the branch.
- Motivate, coach and develop the branch team to achieve sales and service targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new trade customers.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales, profitability and customer retention.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered at all times.
- Maintain strong product knowledge and keep up to date with industry developments.
- Oversee stock control, stock reconciliation and inventory management.
- Work closely with Purchasing, Finance, Marketing, HR and other branch teams to achieve business objectives.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and performance management of branch employees.
- Coordinate branch vehicles and ensure they are maintained and operated safely.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety legislation.
- Take responsibility for branch operations and Health & Safety in the Branch Manager's absence.
About You
You'll be an ambitious and driven individual with previous experience in a plumbing, heating or merchant environment and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working within a fast-paced sales or merchant environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with a proven ability to achieve KPIs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Good IT skills, including experience using business systems and Microsoft Office.
- Flexible approach with a willingness to travel when required.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within the plumbing and heating merchant sector.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing and heating products.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience coaching and developing team members.
