About the role
You will work as an Apprentice Engineering Maintenance Technician. You will be required to complete a three and a half year training programme that will cover all aspects of the role delivered through in-house training, alongside day-release or other distance learning methods delivered by MTC Training.
You will work towards a L3 Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship by completing guided coursework and paid industrial work. Note that attendance to the training centre and successful completion of your studies is required as an integral part of this role.
The apprenticeship includes an exciting opportunity to work within different workshops in the Department of Pharmacology, which support research into biological and life sciences and various other areas of research. There will also be the opportunity to work alongside specialists within the University’s Estates Team and other approved contractors.
About the apprenticeship
As part of this role, you will undertake an Apprenticeship with MTC, where you will complete a L3 Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship.
For this apprenticeship, you will work in the Department of Pharmacology, Mansfield Road, Oxford OX1 3QT.
In total, it will take 3.5 years to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and Training Provider throughout.

About you
You will be passionate about starting your career in engineering and excited about the opportunity of becoming an apprentice at the University of Oxford.
To complete the level 3 apprenticeship you will need to evidence passes at 9-4 or A*-C in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent. There are also government residency requirements for Apprenticeship funding which the Training Provider will be able to advise on.
