LGV / HGV Refuse Driver & Loader – Temporary to Permanent

Are you a qualified LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driver looking for your next opportunity? Or perhaps you're looking to gain experience in the waste and recycling sector?
We're currently recruiting for a Refuse Driver/Loader to join a well-established waste and recycling depot in Willand. You'll be part of a friendly team working across Mid Devon, helping to keep local communities clean, safe and well maintained.
The Role
As a Refuse Driver/Loader, your duties will include:
- Driving LGV Category C and non-LGV vehicles as required
- Leading and supporting a refuse collection crew across Mid Devon
- Completing daily vehicle safety checks and inspections
- Ensuring collections are carried out safely and efficiently
- Working as part of a team to collect household waste and recycling
- Following all relevant health, safety and operational procedures
- Helping to maintain a clean and safe environment for local residents
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- A holder of a full LGV Category C licence
- In possession of a valid Driver CPC
- Safety-conscious and responsible
- Reliable, punctual and physically fit
- Comfortable working outdoors and as part of a team
- Previous LGV/HGV driving experience is preferred
- Waste and recycling experience is advantageous, but not essential
