To provide a comprehensive secretarial service to consultants, junior medical staff and medical secretaries including CAS support, ensuring the highest level of confidentiality is maintained at all times .
The post holder will be required to demonstrate a significant level of initiative in organising their workload and in making decisions and taking action in accordance with departmental policy.
To make clinic amendments on EPR, this includes, cancelling, changing and setting up of outpatient clinics.
To provide high quality audio-typing, medical terminology, as required by Medical Staff, ensuring that the work is completed in an efficient and timely manner.
Take Lead for CAS - Admin ( Clinical Assessment Service) updated Dashboard and processing referrals.
To obtain investigation results and exercise judgement to ensure that medical attention is urgently drawn to abnormal results.
To act up in the absence of the Senior Team Secretary, ensuring all duties are completed in an effective and efficient manner to ensure an optimum service is always maintained.
To provide cross cover for the secretarial team during absences with ENT and Maxillofacial.
To escalate RTT issues to the Directorate Management Teams, and to ensure the 18-week Referral to treatment Pathways are opened and closed appropriately in line with national standards.
To accurately record reasons for clinic/patient cancellations, change of appointments, including re-booking appointments as requested through EPR.
Respond in a professional and sensitive manner when dealing with confidential issues to patients, relatives, and other agencies
To accurately create records and update patient related information onto the EPR.
Assist with the training and induction of any new, or less experienced, secretarial/support staff.
Be familiar with and comply with all Trust and Departmental Policies and procedures.
Participate in appraisals to agree/revise Personal Development Plans.
