About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and conscientious Domestic Cleaner to join our housing team for 12 hours per week on a 3 month fixed-term basis. This role plays a key part in supporting our veterans and residents to live as independently as possible by maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming communal living environments.
You will provide domestic cleaning support across our housing and HMO settings, ensuring all communal areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities

Clean and maintain communal areas including corridors, stairways, sitting rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and toilets

Follow and adhere to a structured cleaning schedule

Dust and polish furniture and fixtures

Empty bins and safely dispose of waste in designated areas

Sweep, mop, and maintain floors as appropriate

Use cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, and carpet shampooers safely

Clean carpets, rugs, upholstery, and curtains

Apply cleaning products in line with instructions and health & safety requirements

Ensure cleaning supplies are adequately stocked

Maintain and store cleaning equipment correctly, reporting any faults promptly

Keep cleaning cupboards and storage areas tidy and organised

Clean kitchens, bathrooms, and associated fixtures

Wash woodwork, windows, and surfaces when required
About You
-
Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is desirable

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Good understanding of health and safety practices

Reliable, hardworking, and committed to maintaining high standards

A respectful and approachable manner when working in residents’ homes and communal areas
