About the role
We are looking for a warm, professional and guest-centred Front Office Team Member to join our quality 4-star hotel in the South Lakes. This role is central to creating an excellent guest experience from first enquiry through to booking, arrival, stay and departure.
Working as part of the Front Office team, you will support reception and reservations duties, promote food and beverage and spa bookings, and liaise closely with departments across the hotel to ensure guests feel welcomed, cared for and valued.
What you’ll be doing
· Deliver a warm, efficient and professional welcome to guests, visitors and callers.
· Carry out reception duties including check-in, check-out, billing, switchboard, guest communication and general enquiries.
· Handle telephone, email, online, Central Reservations and in-person enquiries promptly and accurately.
· Support reservations activity, ensuring booking details are recorded correctly, and guest information is handled with care.
· Promote food and beverage bookings to residents and non-residents.
· Promote spa bookings and treatments, liaising with the Spa team to support smooth guest arrangements.
· Respond to guest requests and concerns calmly and professionally, escalating where appropriate.
· Liaise with Housekeeping, Kitchen, Restaurant, Spa, Maintenance and Groups and Events and over guest requests and operational changes.
· Support upselling, accurate booking handling and proactive guest engagement.
· Maintain a calm, organised and professional front-office environment.
· Follow hotel procedures, protocols and standards consistently.
Additional responsibilities
· You may be required to act as Duty Manager as part of the role, when cover is required.
· You may provide be required to oversee Housekeeping team when covering for the Housekeeping Supervisor.
· Maintain accurate records, incident logs and operational documentation.
· Uphold health, safety, fire safety and data protection procedures.
What we’re looking for
· Previous experience in a similar hotel, reception or guest-facing role is preferred.
· A warm, confident and guest-centred approach.
· Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
· Knowledge of hotel PMS systems, reservations processes and revenue awareness would be an advantage.
· Ability to remain calm, professional and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment.
· Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, evenings and public holidays as required.
· Fluent English is required.
· A driving licence is preferred.
