At Haddenham Pharmacy, we are seeking a QUALIFIED Pharmacy Counter (Healthcare) Assistant who is motivated, enthusiastic and flexible to work in our pharmacy for an average of 25.5 hours per week.
We are looking for a hire as follows:
Monday: 9am – 1pm
Tuesday: 9am – 1pm
Thursday: 9am – 6pm
Friday: 9am – 6pm
Sat: 9am – 12pm (Alternate Saturday working)
Please note the hourly rate will apply to those who qualified and meet National Living Wage Requirements. Salary will be dependent on experience.
Pharmacy Assistants core duties will include, but will not be limited to:
· Driving sales. This is a key feature of the job whereby candidates need to
be motivated to upsell, link sell, enjoy a challenge and recommend
treatments for minor ailments and sell pharmacy medicines within
training limits.
· Promotion and sharing of Pharmacy by NHS and Private services.
· Enjoy helping customers across the medicine counter.
· Process prescription payments and check exemption details.
· Handle and respond to pharmacy telephone enquiries on a daily basis.
· Participating in the Healthy Living promotion and pharmacy services so our clients get the best experience.
· Promote and deliver blood pressure services by actively encouraging patients to have their blood pressure checked within the pharmacy.
· As the first point of contact for clients, except prescriptions at reception and direct to the dispensary to process.
. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
· Organise product displays and arrange all ordering and stock for the shop floor.
· Maintaining shop cleanliness, date checking.
· Flag capacity pressures or clashes to the pharmacist/Manager.
· Send written notification to patients and GP surgeries confirming treatment supplied, using approved templates.
· Manage the service inbox, respond within agreed timeframes and escalate as appropriate.
· Apply documented eligibility criteria to determine whether a patient qualifies for an NHS service or should be directed to the private equivalent, and explain the distinction clearly.
· Recognise symptoms requiring clinical expertise and escalate to the Pharmacist Manager where a query falls outside documented criteria, involves clinical judgement, or where the patient requests a private discussion.
· Support audit and reporting requirements
Experience:
· UK Pharmacy: 1 year (required)
· Previous community pharmacy or GP practice experience
· Familiarity with NHS service frameworks
· Experience handling clinical correspondence
· Hold an accredited Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification.
