Calder Construction & Shop Fitting Ltd is an established construction and maintenance company specialising in retail shop fitting, refurbishment, repairs, and new build projects for major national retailers.
Due to continued growth and a strong forward order book, we are looking to recruit an experienced Joiner / Shop Fitter who can take responsibility for leading a small team and delivering high-quality projects across the UK.
The Role
This is a hands-on position requiring a skilled Joiner / Shop Fitter with leadership experience. You will be responsible for overseeing a small team on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to a high standard.
Projects are predominantly retail shop-fitting works located across the M62 corridor, North Wales, and occasionally other UK locations.
The role will involve:
- Shop fitting and joinery works within retail environments
- Leading and motivating a small site team
- Ensuring work is completed to programme and quality standards
- Liaising professionally with clients and site representatives
- Travelling to sites across the UK in company vehicles
- Occasional overnight stays, night shifts, and weekend working
All approved working-away requirements are fully paid, with overnight allowances and performance bonuses available.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Joinery (essential)
- Proven experience in shop fitting and joinery
- Experience leading or supervising site teams
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work away from home when required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Positive and flexible approach to work
Desirable Requirements
- CSCS Gold Card (preferred)
- SSMST qualification (essential)
- Experience working within retail fit-out environments
