Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role involves working on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and construction sites. The ideal applicant will have a keen eye for colour and finish, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primers as necessary.
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other decorative coatings with precision and care.
- Use brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other tools effectively to achieve desired finishes.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or specific requirements.
- Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition; report any damages or repairs needed promptly.
- Assist in colour matching and selecting appropriate finishes for different surfaces or client preferences.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and decorating techniques.
- Ability to work confidently with minimal supervision once trained.
- Good communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between multiple sites.
- Familiarity with health & safety procedures relevant to painting and decorating roles.
