Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and diligent Part Time School Cleaner to join our team that work at primary school in Oakham. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within the school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for students, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise classrooms, hallways, toilets, and common areas in accordance with school standards
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces to maintain cleanliness
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate personnel
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school operations and staff
Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable with a professional attitude towards work duties
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to pass any necessary background checks required by the school policies (Enhanced DBS)
Hours/shifts
Start time of 330pm, Monday to Friday (term time) for 3 hours each shift
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
