What You'll Be Doing
As an Application Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our student systems are reliable, effective, and continuously evolving to meet the needs of the University community. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Digital Technologies and the wider University to:

Provide expert third-line technical support for key student information systems, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.

Analyse and implement system upgrades, regulatory changes, and maintenance activities through established change management processes.

Collaborate with business users, suppliers, and DT colleagues to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and deliver system enhancements.

Support critical academic-year activities, including annual system configurations, student enrolment, and ongoing operational support for staff and students.

Contribute to the future development of our student systems, helping to drive improvements that enhance both the student and staff experience.

What We’re Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical skills with genuine enthusiasm for technology.

Experience of working with Student Information Systems, either from a technical or functional perspective is critical to this role.

A strong interest in technology and developing your technical skills (particularly important for candidates from functional background).

Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to analyse data, investigate issues, and help resolve integration problems.

Strong organisational skills, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

Confident working with multiple large, business-critical systems.

Knowledge of student lifecycle processes in higher education is required.

A proactive approach, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to delivering excellent servicewe value potential.

This role is based at our City Site, we currently work with a hybrid model (minimum 60% of your time per week will be based on campus).

Occasional out-of-hours work may be required to support system maintenance.
