Join our school as a School Administrator and become an integral part of the team, supporting the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and wider school community.
This is a busy and rewarding role where you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the school, ensuring effective processes are in place to support both operational and educational objectives. Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will provide high-quality administrative support while helping to maintain a welcoming, professional and efficient environment for staff, pupils, parents and visitors.
A key part of the role will involve supporting the school's financial administration, including processing invoices, managing accounts payable activities, maintaining records of income and expenditure, monitoring budgets and liaising with finance teams to resolve queries. You will also support the management of the school's private funds, maintain accurate financial records and assist with debt collection processes where required.
You will play an important role in recruitment administration, coordinating vacancies, arranging interviews, preparing recruitment documentation and supporting safer recruitment processes. This includes processing DBS applications, maintaining personnel records and ensuring the accuracy of employment-related documentation. You will also support the maintenance of key compliance records, including the school's Single Central Register and staff training, attendance and absence records.
In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining inventories and asset registers, monitoring stock levels and supporting the efficient management of school resources. The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
This role is a part time position of 15 hours a week.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft / Google Packages (for example, Google
- Sheet / Excel)
- Skills in finance (including systems finance and accountancy)
- To be very well organised, methodical and accurate
- Providing HR support within an educational or similar institution
- Ability to manage high workloads, be proactive and self-motivated, understanding priorities and managing workload effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, on the telephone and face to face- draft correspondence independently- write and communicate verbally, clearly and concisely
