Warehouse Operative
Overview
Growers Garden is a leading manufacturer of vegetable crisps and healthy snack products, supplying customers across the UK and beyond. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Warehouse Operative to join our team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of raw materials, packaging and finished products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and stock accuracy. Working closely with Production, Technical and Warehouse teams, you will help ensure products are available when needed and customer orders are dispatched on time.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working as part of a small team, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is committed to working safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Receive and check deliveries of raw materials, packaging and consumables against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Safely unload, store and move stock using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.
- Pick, prepare and load finished goods orders in accordance with customer and haulier requirements.
- Maintain accurate stock records and support regular stock counts and inventory checks.
- Ensure all stock is rotated correctly using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Complete all warehouse documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the movement of stock between the Growers Garden site and third-party storage facilities when required.
- Conduct routine quality checks to ensure products and packaging remain in acceptable condition during storage.
- Assist Production by ensuring raw materials and packaging are available when required.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, housekeeping and organisation throughout the warehouse.
- Adhere to all Food Safety, Health & Safety, GMP and BRCGS requirements.
- Carry out daily equipment checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste and maintain high standards.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing or food production environment.
- Good understanding of stock rotation and inventory control.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a physically active role.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when completing paperwork and stock transactions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and housekeeping.
Desirable
- Aisle Master Licence.
- Experience working within a BRCGS accredited food manufacturing environment.
- Experience using stock control or warehouse management systems.
- Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Experience of loading and unloading vehicles and preparing customer orders.

Job Types: Full-time between 32-40 hours per week, Permanent.
Working Hours: Ideally 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday, with some opportunity for flexibility.
Location: Prestonhall Industrial Estate, Cupar, Fife

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
