YPAS is excited to offer a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our team as a Trainee Children and Young People’s Specialist Clinical Practice National Autism Programme (LDA) Practitioner. This 12-month training post combines hands-on experience supporting children and young people with autism and or learning disabilities, alongside a fully funded Postgraduate Diploma and Weekly Clinical Supervision.
This trainee role is ideal for someone passionate about working with neurodivergent children and young people. You will support individuals across a range of YPAS services, contributing to assessment, planning and delivery of personalised, strengths-based interventions. Supporting children and young people with LD/A needs across therapeutic and community settings. Working closely with families, schools, and professionals to promote inclusive and effective support. Implementing person-centred and evidence-based approaches. Participating in reflective practice and structured academic learning
Professional Criteria
Accredited counsellor or HCPC registered therapist, social worker, mental health nurse, or occupational therapist with two years’ experience working with CYPs or families looking to develop your skills and competencies working with LD/A CYPs Or Applicants who do not hold one of the recognised core professions above may be considered for eligibility via the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA). You would need to demonstrate 4 years’ experience of working with CYPs or families

Salary: NJC point 17 - £31,022
Contract: 12-months fixed-term
Hours: 35 hours per week
