About us
We are Cherry's Café and Deli, in the heart of Petworth. On any given morning the coffee machine is running, the counter is full of good things, and there is a steady stream of regulars who feel more like friends. We are the busiest cafe in town, and we are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, and friendly all-rounder who can deliver great customer service and enjoy a healthy work/life balance.
As the face of our café, you’ll make sure every customer feels welcome, supported, and cared for while working within a culture that values your wellbeing as much as your skills.
The role
No two days look quite the same, and that is rather the point. One moment you are pulling a beautiful flat white made with Monmouth coffee, the next you are plating up our freshly made lunches, restocking the baked goods counter, or clearing tables with a smile. You will be on your feet, in the thick of it, and part of a small team that genuinely looks after one another.
A typical day might include:
- Making coffee and serving drinks to a high standard
- Taking orders and looking after customers front of house
- Preparing simple food, sandwiches and deli plates
- Keeping the counter, tables and work areas clean and welcoming
- Handling payments and helping to open up or close down
- Keeping the café and kitchen clean, safe, and organised.
- Following food safety practices.
Who we are looking for
As we are busy we will need you to have some experience. You also need warmth, a good work ethic, and the kind of nature that makes people feel looked after. We also have a robust training method that will teach you everything you need to know.
