The Campus Safety, Security, and Site Services Officers play a vital role in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Their primary responsibilities include conducting regular patrols on foot and by vehicle, responding swiftly to security incidents and emergencies, portering duties, mail and parcel handling, cleaning of internal and external areas, litter picking, lost property management and ensuring effective access control to university buildings and facilities.
A strong emphasis is placed on customer service, requiring officers to provide support and assistance while upholding the university’s values and objectives. They monitor CCTV surveillance systems, manage key distribution, and enforce university policies related to security, health, and safety. Officers also assist with event security, conflict resolution, and emergency response procedures, such as fire drills and evacuations.
Additionally, their role includes traffic and parking enforcement, issuing warnings and penalty notices when necessary. Officers liaise with emergency services and university authorities during incidents, ensuring a coordinated response.
With a flexible and proactive approach, the Campus Safety, Security, and Site Services Officer adapts to the evolving needs of the university, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and service.
