Driver/porter required for small but expanding family-run removal company, covering mostly house moves.
Duties include:
- Driving a 3.5 tonne vehicle locally and nationwide. Please only apply if you are comfortable driving this size vehicle with a clean, valid driving licence
- You will also act as a porter, which involves loading the contents of one property and unloading at another. Contents includes furniture, goods & boxes up to 25kg. Therefore, it is crucial that you are physically fit.
- Dismantle & reassemble customer’s furniture.
- Loading & unloading vans/properties & storage units.
- Wrapping / covering / protecting customer’s furniture & belongings.
- Packing boxes
Hours & place of work:
- Van pick-up /drop off from Castle Vale.
- Start/finish time varies day to day but on average 8am-5:30pm
- 38 hour minimum. However, hours will fluctuate week-to-week, depending on workload. Availability to work minimum hours between Monday - Sunday is a must.
- Most of our moves take place within 50 miles. However, we do cover moves as far as Scotland, Cornwall and anywhere in between. Therefore, the ability to cover long-haul moves is also essential.
- Due to the distance of some moves, the odd over-night stay might also be required.

Rate of pay:
- £13.69 per hour standard rate
- Bonuses for travel over 30 miles
- Over time - £15 per hour.
