An opportunity has arisen within Corporate Property and Land for a full time, permanent Property Assistant based at Green Lane Council Offices, Spennymoor.
As a Property Assistant, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of a designated building(s) ensuring they are clean, safe, compliant and maintained to the agreed standards.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will support the Assistant Support Services Officers and Support Services Officers in delivering an efficient and effective Facilities Management service, ensuring that agreed service standards are consistently achieved.
You will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the correct operation and maintenance of building systems and services, including boiler plant, mechanical and electrical systems, ventilation, alarms, lifts, building management systems, and other equipment as required to support the effective running of the premises.
A proactive approach is essential, as you will identify, address, and report any premises or compliance-related issues to ensure council facilities remain clean, safe, and fully compliant with health and safety regulations.
In addition, you will carry out planned and routine compliance, maintenance, and repair tasks to help maintain a safe, secure, and compliant working environment.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will need a NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, first aid at work qualified or willingness to work towards and experience of working in a general maintenance/ premises-based environment.
You should be customer-focussed with good communication skills, and knowledge of safe working practices in a premises-based facilities environment.
