JOB PURPOSE
The role of the General Sales Manager is to:
- Achieve vehicle sales, finance sales, accessory sales volumes and profit objectives.
- Manage all vehicle sales processes within the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- To manage the mix and specification of new products based on sales trends, local market intelligence and the allocation and production constraints.
- Manage the supply of used vehicles.
- Ensure all vehicles are funded appropriately and any issues in this regard are notified to the Head of Business immediately.
- Implement and develop customer follow up systems and procedures to increase customer loyalty; aid in maintaining the accuracy of the customer database.
- Maximise commercial opportunities through developing and implementing effective and consistent events and campaigns.
- Understanding of manufacturer mystery shopping criteria and ability to apply this knowledge.
- Actively convey the culture of putting customers first by means of TCF at all times and comply with the principles of the FCA for both the customer and the business.
- Maximise sales opportunities by offering finance solutions to customers and ensuring each customer receives excellent customer service as well as adhering to the FCA guidelines at all times in regards to portraying financial information and regulated activities.
- Recruit and select the sales team members in line with organisational and manufacturer requirements.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, ensuring staff comply with Health and Safety requirements.
- Maintain a robust debt control process.
- Managing department cost in line with budget objectives.
- Accurate and timely forecast and understanding of management accounts.
Skills & Requirements
Essential
- Full driving licence.
- Smart appearance.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy.
- Competency in IT.
Experience
Essential
- Must have a minimum of 2 years main dealer management experience.
Desirable
- Relevant manufacturer experience.
