Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals in a care home or home care setting. This vital role involves assisting residents or clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being is always prioritized. Duties
- Support residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming while respecting their dignity and privacy
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Help with meal preparation and feeding, catering to individual dietary needs outlined in care plans
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, including updates to care plans and daily logs
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure cohesive and personalized care delivery
- Support clients in engaging with activities that promote mental and physical well-being
- Use IT systems to document care activities efficiently and accurately
- Be available to cover shifts at short notice to support care and nursing homes
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Experience working in a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential—training will be provided
- Ability to follow detailed care plans precisely while adapting to individual needs
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and updating electronic records
- Compassionate attitude with excellent listening skills to
- understand residents’ needs and preferences
