About the Role
Mooncare Limited is currently recruiting an experienced and reliable Live-in Carer for a care placement in South London.
This is a live-in position, so the successful candidate will stay in the client's home during their agreed placement period and provide consistent, person-centred support while promoting the client's independence, dignity, privacy and wellbeing.
We are particularly looking for someone who understands the responsibilities of live-in care and is comfortable providing support within a client's own home.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the client's assessed care needs, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the client with their daily routine
- Personal care, including washing, dressing and grooming where required
- Supporting mobility and safe movement around the home
- Medication prompting or administration where authorised and appropriately trained
- Preparing meals and supporting nutrition and hydration
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Supporting the client to maintain their independence
- Light household duties connected with the client's care and wellbeing
- Supporting appointments and community activities where required
- Monitoring and reporting changes in the client's health or wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate daily care records
- Following the client's care plan and risk assessments
- Reporting safeguarding or welfare concerns immediately
- Maintaining professional boundaries, dignity and confidentiality at all times
Essential Requirements
Applicants should:
- Have previous experience in live-in care, domiciliary care, healthcare or a similar care role
- Be comfortable living in the client's home during the placement
- Have up-to-date relevant care training
- Understand safeguarding and duty of care
- Have good communication and record-keeping skills
- Be able to follow care plans, risk assessments and medication procedures
- Be reliable, patient and professional
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Be willing to undergo all required pre-employment compliance checks

What We Are Looking For
Live-in care requires more than simply being present in the client's home. We are looking for a carer who can build a respectful and professional relationship with the client while recognising when support is needed and when the client's independence and personal space should be maintained.
You should be compassionate, dependable, observant and confident working independently, with access to support from the wider Mooncare team.
