We are a Modern Style Japanese Grill Restaurant in the heart of Leeds City Centre. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment, supporting the head chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food production. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting in menu development. A background in restaurant experience, food preparation, and team management is essential for this position.
Duties
- Assist the head chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency and excellence in presentation.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service times and special menu offerings.
- Assist in training new team members in food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Experience in restaurant or hospitality settings with a focus on high-quality service delivery.

- Level 2 Food Hygiene is required

Your salary is negotiable and will include a share of Tips and Service Charge
Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
