Job Title: Kitchen Porter
Department: Back of House / Kitchen
Shift Pattern: Weekends Essential (Saturdays, Sundays, & Bank Holidays)
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, high-energy Kitchen Porter to keep our kitchen running seamlessly during our busiest times. As the engine room of our weekend service, you will maintain high hygiene standards, support kitchen flow, and ensure the culinary team has clean equipment ready at a moment’s notice.
Key Responsibilities
- Dishwashing & Sanitization: Wash pots, pans, utensils, and service dishware quickly using commercial dishwashers and hand-washing stations to keep up with high customer turnover.
- Kitchen Station Hygiene: Keep prep areas, wash bays, floors, and food storage areas spotlessly clean, sanitized, and clutter-free throughout peak service.
- Waste Management: Empty kitchen waste, recycling, and food scraps regularly, maintaining clear pathways and clean back-of-house areas.
- Deliveries & Stocking: Receive and store food and beverage deliveries quickly, adhering to stock rotation (FIFO) and food safety guidelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Essential Weekend Availability: Must be fully available every Saturday and Sunday, as well as bank holidays and peak seasonal periods.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long shifts, lift heavy kitchen items (up to 20kg), and work safely in a warm, dynamic environment.
- Reliability & Work Ethic: Direct, punctual, and proactive mindset with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and support the team.
- Hygiene Standards: Understanding of basic health and safety protocols (prior food hygiene certification is a plus, but on-the-job training will be provided)
