Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tire Technician to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing tyres on a variety of vehicles. Responsibilities
- Remove and replace tyres using appropriate hand tools and power tools
- Inspect tyres for damage, uneven wear, or punctures and recommend necessary repairs or replacements
- Balance tyres to ensure smooth vehicle operation
- Perform tyre rotations and alignments as required
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot tyre-related issues effectively
- Lift heavy tyres safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools are properly stored after use
- Assist with inventory management by tracking tyre stock levels and ordering supplies when necessary
Qualifications
- Previous experience or knowledge of mechanical systems is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and tyre levers
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
- Physical strength and stamina to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy workshop environment
- A valid driving licence is preferred but not mandatory
