Moorwood Hotel Collection is looking for an experienced, energetic and passionate Assistant Manager to join our leadership team across The Hurt Arms and The White Hart Inn.
This is an exciting dual-site role, offering the opportunity to work across two very different but equally successful venues.
The White Hart Inn is our flagship wedding and events venue, featuring a beautiful restaurant, boutique hotel and a thriving calendar of weddings, celebrations and corporate events.
The Hurt Arms is our newest venue following a major redevelopment and has quickly established itself as one of Derbyshire's busiest hospitality destinations, delivering high-volume restaurant and bar trade, a busy outdoor events programme and unique industrial-style weddings and private events.

The Role
This is a genuine hands-on management position where you'll work across both venues on a split rota, supporting the General Managers in delivering outstanding service every day.
You'll take ownership of management shifts, lead and inspire your team, ensure exceptional operational standards and help deliver everything from busy restaurant services to weddings, hotel operations and major events.
No two days are ever the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead restaurant, bar and hotel operations
- Manage weddings, private functions and corporate events
- Deliver exceptional guest service at every opportunity
- Motivate, coach and develop front of house teams
- Take responsibility for opening and closing management duties
- Ensure company standards are maintained across all departments
- Handle customer feedback professionally and confidently
- Support recruitment, training and performance management
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance
- Work closely with senior management to continually improve standards and profitability
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality and enjoys leading from the front.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous management experience within hospitality
- Strong restaurant and bar management experience
- Experience working within hotels, weddings or events would be advantageous
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A positive, hands-on attitude
- The ability to remain calm under pressure during busy services
- High standards with great attention to detail
- A genuine passion for customer service
- A flexible approach to working across two venues
Hours & Flexibility
This is a minimum 40-hour per week permanent contract.
As a hospitality management role, evening and weekend working is essential, along with flexibility to support weddings, functions, major events and busy trading periods. Flexibility is a key part of this position.
