Practice Accountant
Location: Edinburgh
Job Type: Full-time (Part-time considered for the right candidate)
Salary: £38,000–£45,000 depending on experience
About Us
Rauds Business Solutions is a growing accountancy practice based in Edinburgh. We provide accounts, tax, VAT, payroll and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses across Scotland.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Practice Accountant to join our team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys working directly with clients and managing a varied portfolio.
You will be responsible for preparing accounts from client records through to finalisation, liaising with clients and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Prepare Corporation Tax and Self Assessment Tax Returns.
- Review bookkeeping records and identify adjustments.
- Prepare and review VAT returns.
- Liaise directly with clients regarding queries and missing information.
- Assist clients using Xero and other cloud accounting software.
- Review work prepared by junior team members where appropriate.
- Meet deadlines while managing your own portfolio.
- Provide proactive advice to clients where opportunities are identified.
About You
You'll ideally have:
- At least 3 years' experience working in a UK accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts from start to finish.
- Experience preparing Corporation Tax and Self Assessment Tax Returns.
- Good knowledge of VAT.
- Experience using Xero and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
AAT, ACA, ACCA or Qualified by Experience (QBE) candidates are all welcome to apply.
Desirable
- Experience with TaxCalc, VT Accounts or similar practice software.
- Experience with CIS and Payroll.
- Knowledge of Companies House and HMRC filing requirements.
