We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Paralegal to join our Technical Recoveries Team. In this role, you will manage a caseload of debt recovery matters on behalf of one or more DWF clients, from scoping matters referred into the Technical Team to achieving time-critical deliverables, all while adhering to budget constraints and legal parameters.
The Technical Team is one of 3 business units within our centralised Recoveries Department and currently sits within DWF’s Commercial Services Practice Group.
The team provides specialist support to both the Collections and Legal business units, expediting dispute resolution, for return of matters to the streamlined process-driven business units, in order to control legal expenses for our clients. The team, therefore, acts on behalf of all clients within the department, from blue-chip companies to private clients.
This role offers excellent scope for progression and is an ideal opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic candidate looking to build on their previous experience and continue their career in legal recoveries.
The role will be available across Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham or Newcastle and will be primarily a hybrid-based role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide ad hoc advice and guidance to clients and colleagues on non-referred matters.

Brief counsel for complex matters.

Review matters at the point of referral, providing specific and proportionate scopes divisible into discrete tasks.

Handle various legal matters including pre-action disputes, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, making court applications, and preparing for hearings/trials.

Communicate scopes to clients and keep them informed of progress throughout.

Interact with third parties, including litigants in person, legal representatives, and courts.

Take care and conduct of legal matters, progressing them through to conclusion.

Utilize the Liberate case management system effectively.

Provide line management and limited supervisory responsibility for junior team members.

Report regularly to the Specialist Manager on matters under your responsibility.
