Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and caring Night Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will provide overnight support to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help create a peaceful and secure environment for all.
Duties
- Monitor residents overnight, responding promptly to their needs and ensuring their safety at all times
- Assist with personal care tasks such as repositioning or helping residents with basic hygiene if required
- Maintain accurate care plans and document any changes or incidents during your shift
- Communicate effectively with day staff about residents’ overnight status and any concerns that arise
- Conduct regular checks of the premises to ensure a safe environment, including security and safety protocols
- Support residents in case of emergencies by following established procedures and liaising with emergency services if necessary
- Use IT systems to update records, log incidents, and communicate with team members efficiently
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to listen attentively and respond compassionately
- Basic IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans
- Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting transportation needs when required
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures related to elderly care is beneficial
