Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Ground Worker to join our dynamic team. Previous experience in edging / kerbing is a must. Orange PPE and fit to work medical as a minimum. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting landscape maintenance, construction projects, and site preparation activities. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure that outdoor environments are safe, functional, and visually appealing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in horticulture, construction, and equipment operation while contributing to the enhancement of outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, mowing, and weed control to keep outdoor areas healthy and attractive
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery including excavators and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
- Support construction activities by preparing sites, digging trenches, and assisting with material handling
- Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with team members to execute project plans accurately and on schedule
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to maintain a secure work environment
- Help with gardening and horticultural tasks to promote healthy growth of plants and shrubs
Requirements
- Prior experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or construction is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with operating machinery such as excavators is a plus
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Basic understanding of horticulture principles or gardening practices preferred
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new techniques
- Valid relevant certifications or licenses related to construction or equipment operation are advantageous but not mandatory
