About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Centre & Bar Manager to take full operational responsibility for a busy Masonic Centre in London.
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the day-to-day running of the Centre, including bar operations, events, facilities and member services. The successful candidate will ensure the Centre is professionally managed, financially sustainable, and consistently delivers a high standard of service to Lodges, Chapters, members and external clients.
You will be the key operational contact for all users of the Centre and will play a vital role in maintaining its reputation as a welcoming, well-run and commercially successful venue.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the Masonic Centre, ensuring high standards of presentation, cleanliness and safety.
- Oversee bar and hospitality services, including stock control, ordering, staffing and profitability.
- Coordinate Masonic meetings, dinners, private functions and external events.
- Manage bookings, room allocations and the Centre diary.
- Supervise and develop staff, ensuring effective rotas and high service standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with Lodges, members, suppliers and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety and safeguarding requirements.
- Oversee building maintenance, security and general facilities management.
- Control budgets, monitor financial performance and support commercial growth.
- Identify opportunities to increase bar sales, function bookings and overall revenue.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in hospitality, venue, club or events management
- Confident managing staff, budgets and operations
- Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
- Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple priorities
- Calm under pressure and solution-focused
- Professional, discreet and customer-focused
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends
Previous experience in a Masonic Centre or private members’ club is desirable but not essential. An understanding of, and respect for, Masonic traditions is important.
