A Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) assists clinicians in outpatient clinics and community settings. Key responsibilities include preparing clinic rooms, chaperoning during examinations, sterilizing equipment, and performing delegated clinical and administrative duties to support the multidisciplinary team.
Core duties typically include:
Clinical Assistance: Chaperoning during ENT consultations and minor procedures, and supporting patients before, during, and after their clinic visits.
Delegated Clinical Tasks: Carrying out clinical observations (such as blood pressure and temperature), venepuncture, taking swabs, and potentially performing specialized under-supervision tasks like smell testing.
Equipment Decontamination: Following strict infection control policies to decontaminate, clean, and manage clinical instruments and scopes used in ENT procedures.
Clinic Management: Preparing examination rooms, maintaining clinical stock levels, and ensuring a smooth, efficient clinic workflow.
Administrative Duties: Updating patient records, managing appointment outcomes, and safely escalating any patient concerns to a registered nurse or doctor.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
