As a Fire Health & Safety Officer at Sodexo, you'll play a vital role in keeping colleagues, patients, visitors and healthcare environments safe. Working within a busy NHS healthcare setting, you'll provide specialist fire safety advice, deliver essential training, and help ensure compliance with current fire safety legislation and healthcare standards.

What you'll do

Provide specialist fire safety advice and guidance across the hospital estate

Conduct fire risk assessments and develop associated action plans

Deliver engaging fire safety and emergency evacuation training to colleagues

Support fire safety audits, inspections and assurance activities

Investigate fire-related incidents, unwanted alarm activations and near misses

Produce fire safety reports and maintain accurate records

Liaise with external stakeholders, including the Fire and Rescue Service

Support managers in meeting their fire safety responsibilities and regulatory obligations
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone with previous fire safety experience within healthcare or similarly regulated environments and a passion for creating safer workplaces.
You'll have:

A recognised fire safety qualification such as NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate, CFPA qualification, or equivalent experience

Level 3 Fire Risk Assessor qualification

Sound knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and HTM 05 guidance

PAS 79 knowledge and/or qualification (recognised methodology for fire risk assessments)

Experience carrying out fire risk assessments and implementing corrective actions

Strong communication and training delivery skills

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

The confidence to influence stakeholders and promote a positive safety culture
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
