We are currently recruiting 2 Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our established and supportive team at our four-bed children's home.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a home with a settled staff team, where no staff members have left in the past 14 months under the current management. Our home has also received consecutive Good Ofsted inspections and continues to make excellent progress in providing high-quality, therapeutic care to the children who live with us.
We currently care for 3 children and are recruiting ahead of welcoming a fourth child, allowing successful applicants the opportunity to become part of the team before our next placement joins the home.
What we offer
- Full-time permanent position
- Rolling 2 on, 4 off shift pattern
- Working hours from 07:00–23:00
- Occasional sleep-ins, paid at £50 per night
- Overtime opportunities available with rotas planned in advance, paid at an enhanced rate of an additional £5 per hour
- Optional At-Call system, with a £35 retainer for being available for a 24-hour period when required
- 28 days annual leave (224 hours)
- Fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People (Residential), subject to the company's training agreement
About Highview Children's Services
Highview Children's Services provides residential care and support for children and young people aged 8–17 years.
The children who live in our homes have often experienced significant trauma and require compassionate, consistent adults to support their social, emotional, mental health and behavioural needs.

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play an important role in helping children develop confidence, independence and positive life experiences while providing consistent therapeutic care each day.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day social, emotional and behavioural support to children and young people.
- Building positive, trusting and therapeutic relationships with the children in your care.
- Creating and maintaining a warm, safe and homely living environment.
- Supporting with daily routines including meal preparation, laundry and household tasks.
- Administering medication in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Completing accurate daily records, reports and documentation following significant events.
- Encouraging and participating in children's hobbies, interests and leisure activities.
- Supporting education, including transporting children to and from school or college.
- Supervising and supporting family contact alongside professionals where required.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider professional network to achieve the best outcomes for each child.

- A willingness to learn and develop within residential childcare.
Previous experience within residential childcare is desirable, however we also welcome applications from individuals with transferable experience and the right values and commitment to supporting vulnerable young people.
