We are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Sheffield team,
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday
- Week 1: 07:30 – 16:30 (42.5 hours)
- Week 2: 07:00 – 16:00 (42.5 hours)
Salary: Dependent on experience
The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, fault finding, and repair of a wide range of industrial plant and equipment across our UK operations. You will work as part of a proactive maintenance team, ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial plant and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
- Install, service and overhaul mechanical equipment.
- Assist with equipment improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Travel to other UK sites when required.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment.
- Strong welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience working with hydraulic systems.
- Experience maintaining heavy industrial equipment such as: Material Handlers, Forklift Trucks (FLT), Shovel Loaders
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working on balers.
- Experience maintaining densifier plants.
- Knowledge of recycling or metals processing operations.
