Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Laboratory Technician to facilitate the expanding responsibilities of our company. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about science with an eagerness to learn and grow within the waste industry. If successful, you will be provided with the necessary training and support to carry out your day to day duties.
The right candidate will have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You must be flexible with a "can do" attitude with the work provided or asked of you and be customer focussed.
Duties will include:
· To perform analysis in accordance with our laboratories SOP’s.
· To conduct regular instrument calibrations.
· To maintain site health and safety procedures (i.e. SOPs, RAs, COSHH, etc)
· To keep accurate records of testing.
· To ensure laboratory is kept in a clean and tidy state.
· To assist with laboratory stock control.
The candidate is likely to have:
· Minimum A-level qualification in a Science based field.
· Knowledge of standard laboratory practices.
· Good communication skills.
· Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Excel.
· Willingness to learn.
· Experience in a scientific workplace (preferred).
The hours will be between 7am and 3.30pm, however, as part of the team you will be expected to cover other admin shifts during periods of sickness and annual leave.
Salary: £26,500.00 per year
