Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires a strong background in hospitality, culinary skills, and team management, as well as a commitment to food safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications.
- Ensure all food production meets safety and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Handle any kitchen emergencies or issues that may arise during service.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary skills, and food safety practices.
- Excellent team management abilities with a focus on fostering a positive work environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are an advantage.

Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
