Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with health and safety standards
- Support chefs and kitchen staff in daily tasks such as chopping, mixing, and plating dishes
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Help with inventory management by organising ingredients and supplies
- Follow food safety procedures diligently to prevent contamination and ensure quality control
- Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner when required
- Assist in setting up the dining area for service, including arranging tables and clearing after meals
- Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with event-specific tasks
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable
- Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety protocols
- Ability to work efficiently under supervision while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when serving customers or colleagues
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and food service operations
