Overview
We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated Self Employed Courier Driver to join our logistics team. This role involves delivering packages efficiently and professionally across various locations, ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in handling deliveries within a fast-paced environment. As a self-employed contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while maintaining high standards of service.
Duties
- Safely operate a variety of delivery van, adhering to all road safety regulations
- Pick up parcels from designated warehouses or depots and deliver them to customers' premises promptly
- Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting and organisation within the vehicle
- Plan efficient routes to optimise delivery times and minimise fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery times or any issues encountered during routes
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, including signatures and proof of delivery
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with legal requirements
- Ensure all deliveries are completed in a professional manner, representing the company positively
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, ideally within a commercial setting
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record, no more than 6 points (for insurance purposes)
- Experience with commercial driving and warehouse operations is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes
- Strong organisational skills to plan routes and manage schedules effectively
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to commercial driving
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high levels of reliability and professionalism
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
