Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Hygiene Operative to join our team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety across our manufacturing facility.
This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexible working hours to suit the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly schedules across all production areas
- Follow cleaning procedures for all equipment, adhering to company SOPs and COSHH guidelines.
- Perform post-cleaning inspections and complete cleaning schedules accurately to audit standards.
- Safely store and use chemicals and cleaning equipment in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Report defects, hygiene risks, or potential contamination to the Technical Manager.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Hygiene Operative or within food production/factory cleaning roles.
- Understanding of food safety standards, including HACCP Level 2 preferred.
- Knowledge of COSHH and safe chemical handling procedures.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual cleaning tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Good communication skills to follow instructions and report issues effectively.
Qualifications
- L2 Food Safety Qualification/ Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- COSHH awareness
Experience required
- Previous cleaning experience
- Experience working within a food manufacturing, food production or catering environment
Working Conditions
- Factory environment with exposure to loud machinery and varying temperatures
- Use of industrial cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Use of PPE including gloves, protective clothing, and safety footwear
Further relevant training and skills development will be identified and provided on an on going basis
Pay: £29,000.00 per year
