About the Role
We are looking for a professional, reliable and discreet Personal Driver / Chauffeur to provide a first-class and flexible driving service and support with the family's day-to-day travel.
This is a varied role suited to someone who takes pride in their appearance, driving and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be professional, personable and approachable, with a natural ability to put people at ease. They will ensure journeys are safe, comfortable and punctual, while providing a discreet, courteous service at all times.
The role will involve regular travel across Corby, Kettering, Stamford and surrounding areas, with occasional longer-distance journeys.
Flexibility is crucial, as the role may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and, sometimes nights, depending on diary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, punctual and professional driving services and to support the family.
- Drive to a range of destinations including business meetings, appointments, social engagements, railway stations, airports and other locations.
- Plan routes in advance, taking traffic and potential delays into consideration.
- Maintain complete discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure all vehicles are kept clean, tidy, presentable and well maintained.
- Carry out regular vehicle checks and report any maintenance requirements promptly.
- Assist with luggage, shopping or personal belongings when required.
- Manage changes to journeys and schedules calmly and efficiently.
- Communicate professionally and courteously at all times.
- Be familiar with Corby, Kettering, Stamford and the surrounding areas.
- Undertake longer-distance journeys when required.
- Assist with transport of family pets to and from veterinary appointments as required.
- Be prepared to wait during appointments or meetings where necessary, and if required, stay overnight depending on travel arrangements (accommodation and expenses will be provided).
- Support with occasional errands, collections and deliveries when required.
- Maintain a smart casual appearance, as required.
- Respect the privacy and personal space of the family and other passengers at all times.
- Pick up/drop off members of the family, friends and business guests/associates.
About You
- Based in or within a reasonable commuting distance of Great Easton, Leicestershire (such as, Corby, Kettering, Stamford, Market Harborough, Oakham).
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong understanding of the importance of being on time.
- Professional, courteous and presentable, with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Discreet and trustworthy, with excellent personal integrity.
- A confident and experienced driver.
- Calm and composed, particularly when plans or schedules change.
- Flexible and comfortable working around a changing diary.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- A good communicator who understands the importance of providing an exceptional service.
Requirements
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Clean driving record preferred.
- Previous experience as a chauffeur, private driver or professional driver is desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of local roads and routes.
- Comfortable using sat-nav and modern technology.
- Professional references.
- Previous experience in a private household or similar role would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Working Hours
This is a flexible full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week.
The role will include two days off per week, although these days will vary depending on diary and business requirements.
The working pattern will include:
- Weekday driving
- Early mornings
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Longer-distance journeys (overnight if required)
- Periods of waiting while appointments or meetings take place
The role requires a high degree of flexibility, as working hours and days will vary from week to week depending on the family's diary and travel requirements.
